Legacy – Action & (un)realized dreams

Roger Holzberg – What’s left behind when you’re no longer here, will be defined by your actions & (un)realized dreams.

The Legacy I’d like to leave behind is actually pretty simple. I want to know that I left this earth leaving it a better place than when I came into it and that I helped people navigate the journey from diagnoses to well being, whatever well being means for them.

I don’t feel like I have to do it on a gigantic scale. I know that there are people who say “you know with your wellness network unless you’ve got 600,000,000 people in it like Facebook does you’re not successful”. If I can touch the lives of 12,000 people on the patient journey a year, that actually feels ok to me, because if it enables them to survive, the exponential growth of the patients and the children that follow in their footsteps will take care of itself.

As a parent with your children?

As a parent I really struggle because I know that my children will survive me as wonderful, giving, caring human beings.

Well it seems like they already are, right?

They are but what I struggle with is the dream that I thought I was going to be able to realize from the 60s which was; peace, love and a world that works together communally to develop a better existence for us all. It never happened. And I worry about leaving the planet a less healthy place that it was when I came into it.
