Ideas – Top factor contributing to creativity
Jeff Kafka – Ideas – What is the most important factor contributing to creativity.
Marzena Kmiecik: How do you get your ideas and, how do you decide which ones to pursue?
First of all, I will say, I am not the best at this, but it is—for me, it has all been about the relationships that I have created. And, what I say about me not being the best at this is, if you have a huge network of people you are trying to be great to everyone and give back as much as you can, and, one thing I can definitely say is, do not overcommit and not be able to produce. Like, if you cannot make it somewhere, be honest, do not overbook your schedule. As far as ideas, it is similar, like, if you have a great network of people, people are going to give you great ideas, you can talk with friends and come up with a ton of great ideas for business opportunities. Do not over-pursue. And, I learned not to over-pursue things and space things out, a little bit.
Sitting on ideas, for a little while. Let them develop, and then, over time, I have acted on different great ideas, once I knew they were great and I bounced them off of other people. You know, bounce them off of other people and see if they are a good opportunity. I think it is all about the network of friends, and bouncing ideas off of each other. It is how I have been able to come up with some good ideas.
